Pleasant surprise for sure. A series of perfect pop songs. None more perfect or beautiful than The book of love. Most songwriters might happily retire having written that masterpiece. Something particularly moving about the mixture of dripping sarcasm and heartfelt yearning in the songs. Ageless melodies. Showtunes in a way. I loved this gig.
